Conducted throughout a three-phase expansion program, this work covered the phased raising processes of the Ity gold mine's waste storage facility starting from the initial construction period. Each phase was planned to integrate with the geometry of the previous stage; textured HDPE geomembrane, protection geotextile, and drainage pipelines were deployed according to cutting and welding plans compatible with the slope inclinations and base geometry. Due to high humidity caused by the climate and sudden tropical rainfall, deployment windows were revised daily; quality control of extrusion and wedge welds was recalibrated in every shift along with weather conditions.

Collection drainage systems commissioned throughout the three phases were fed by perforated HDPE lines matching the base slope, while double-seam welding and air pressure testing were applied at overlap zones critical for leak detection. The lateritic structure of the site geology required additional refinement for subgrade preparation; compaction checks and surface smoothness were carefully monitored to prevent point loads under the geomembrane.

Tie-in seams made to the existing liner system during phase transitions were completed without disrupting the operational TSF basin. This required significant site discipline supporting the continuous continuation of the mining operation over the multi-year process.
