We build sustainable and eco-friendly solutions…

At the site located in the high-altitude volcanic plateau of Central Eurasia, temperatures dropping below zero in winter months and severe diurnal thermal variations required a schedule discipline quite different from West African sites for geomembrane welding operations. The window planning of the pond lining work was aligned with the suitable temperature range between the late spring and early autumn.
The scope of work, covering the supply and installation of not only the geomembrane but also the geonet undertaking the drainage function, required the lining system to be treated as a composite whole. The geonet layer was deployed to drain potential leakage or condensation water on the geomembrane horizontally, taking into account the slope direction and collection ditch connections; the overlap strips were joined using thermal bonding instead of cable ties.
The volcanic tuff and agglomerate dominated soil structure of the Kayseri-Himmetdede region required special precision in subgrade preparation; screening of sharp-grained material that could emerge on the surface and selecting the protection geotextile weight accordingly were decisive for the long-term performance of the system.
