We build sustainable and eco-friendly solutions…

The Yaoure site is positioned as Perseus’s flagship operation in Ivory Coast, and the construction of the first phase waste storage facility stood out as a critical supply item directly impacting the production schedule. Mobilization to the site required additional planning due to logistical bottlenecks coinciding with the pandemic period; the phased arrival schedule of equipment and consumables necessitated the gradual redesign of the application methodology.
The long rainy season in the tropical zone creates two fundamental challenges for geomembrane deployment: the extension of the time required for the subgrade to reach a sufficient dryness level, and the protection of deployed but unanchored panels against the combination of wind and rain. As a solution in this project, a small-piece deployment policy was adopted; panel sizing was performed in such a way that the area deployed during the day was necessarily welded and anchored by the end of the day.
The geometric records of all seams applied within the scope of Phase 1 were processed into the panel-based traceability map; this recording system remained in the employer's hands as a complete as-built reference for periodic audits and phase expansions to be conducted in the future.
