This application, carried out on the northern axis of İzmir, was one of the early examples of lining work performed for an industrial waste storage facility. Due to Çiğli's location close to the coast, the high groundwater level and seasonal weather variability required keeping the time window between subgrade preparation and membrane deployment tightly controlled.

Within the scope of the work carried out in coordination with the main contractor Sare İnşaat, geomembrane deployment was staged according to the cell geometry; corner details, pipe penetrations, and boot fabrications at drainage outlets were produced on-site using special molds. At each critical penetration point, containment was verified by vacuum box testing following dual-track welding application.

The comprehensive QA/QC documentation discipline, which was not yet widespread in the Turkish domestic market in those years, was fully implemented throughout the project; daily welding outputs, test pressure-time curves, and panel layout drawings were regularly submitted to the employer and archived as a reference following the commissioning of the facility.
