Kışladağ is one of Turkey's largest heap leach gold operations, and the lining installations carried out on-site since 2005 have evolved into one of the technical benchmarks for HDPE geomembrane applications in the country. Throughout the expansion process extending from Phase 1 to Phase 6, each expansion area was constructed with a drainage and liner architecture that integrates with the existing operational pad, yet is resized according to new hydraulic loads.

A 2.0 mm textured HDPE liner on the pad bases, a conductive geotextile layer for leak detection on the top surface, and a geonet drainage system enabling the horizontal movement of the leach solution were used together. In areas housing PLS and event ponds, double liners and secondary monitoring layers were connected to solution lines designed end-to-end with corrugated drainage pipes. Optimizing panel lengths in wide slope areas directly affected the number of anchor trenches and total weld length; therefore, specific deployment plans were prepared prior to each phase.

The high temperature variation of the Uşak plateau during summer months and the freeze-thaw cycle in winter required the readjustment of welding parameters at different hours of the day. This nearly two decades of uninterrupted collaboration established a corporate know-how regarding engineering control, quality certification, and on-site operational discipline.
