In this project executed for an international petroleum operator, the decisive factor was the end-user quality specifications. Site acceptance criteria mandated compliance with international oil and gas industry standards at every stage, from geomembrane sheet thickness tolerance to the rate of non-destructive testing on weld seams, from welding operator certification to daily QA/QC reporting.

At the Caspian coastal terminal site, a containment cell was constructed to environmentally isolate hydrocarbon-contacted waste and process waters. The HDPE geomembrane was deployed with separate panel layouts for sloped banks and flat base geometry; anchor trenches were constructed to secure the membrane in place against wind loads and thermal movements. Welding operations were performed using extrusion and hot wedge methods, with every meter of seam recorded.

The completion of the site within a relatively short installation window required meticulous execution of panel pre-cutting planning and logistics organization; upon delivery, the membrane was handed over to the employer damage-free and with test certification for commissioning.
