The Öksüt site in Develi, Kayseri has become one of Turkey's most active heap leach facilities since its commissioning. The staged movement of the site topography and the expectation of long-term leaching performance meant that the lining system required not only containment, but also chemical and mechanical durability for years to come. Within this scope, textured HDPE liners were deployed in a textured-textured configuration for sliding resistance along sloping panels during geomembrane installations; on pond bases, they were installed together with a conductive geotextile layer enabling leak detection.

Installations performed for the heap pad, under-hydrocyclone drainage ponds, PLS and barren solution structures required the integration of geonet drainage layers, corrugated drainage pipes and HDPE solution pipelines of various diameters into an on-site welded system. Spark testing (electrical leak location - ELL) and standard vacuum box testing were applied together in dual-composite lining areas, establishing a traceable quality record at every point of the solution cycle.

Phase expansions carried out while production continued throughout the project duration made it mandatory to connect new pad areas to the existing lining system impermeably. Completed within limited working windows without coming into contact with an active leach pad, the tie-in welds and repair installations were decisive in preserving operational continuity on site.
