Industrial-scale greenhouse complexes require multiple ponds with different functions, ranging from irrigation water reserves to fertilizer solution collection lines. The ponds designed in this project were positioned to store the water used in the greenhouse and direct drainage water to recovery lines; therefore, the lining system was constructed with HDPE geomembrane to withstand contact with both clean water and nutrient solutions.

Taking into account the alluvial soil structure of the Aegean region, subgrade preparation and compaction steps were meticulously applied. Anchor trenches were constructed at depths above standards to reduce the risk of sliding on slopes; instead of prefabricated factory parts, site-customized welded detail solutions were preferred at pond corners, ensuring containment at geometric discontinuities.

All seams underwent vacuum box and air channel pressure tests, meeting the agricultural investor's zero-loss target during the operational period.
