Delivered to the same operator throughout an eight-stage expansion program, the West Branch heap leach pad became one of the projects that shaped the team's corporate memory under West African conditions with a continuous application period exceeding two years. Since the cell geometry and perimeter channels varied in each stage, panel layout and welding plans were generated from scratch at the beginning of each stage; it was not a job proceeding with a single template.

Although relatively close to the Atlantic Ocean, the site was dominated by an inland desert climate, and during the summer months, the ground surface temperature pushed the workable limit of the HDPE geomembrane around midday. Therefore, deployment and welding operations were largely scheduled for the early morning and late afternoon, while midday was used for quality control and documentation.

The stage-by-stage delivery allowed the employer to plan capacity increases without halting operations; each completed cell continued to produce leach solution during the construction process of the next while the new area was commissioned.
