The Balıkesir İvrindi site constitutes an important link in Tümad Mining's heap leach operations in Western Anatolia. The variable topography of the region and the need for incremental expansion of the existing pad area made it mandatory to connect the new liner phase seamlessly to the existing containment system. Geomembrane installations carried out within this scope were structured on integrating the existing HDPE liner with new sheets by extrusion welding at the pad expansion boundaries and verifying the intermediate zones through spark testing.

Textured HDPE geomembrane was selected in a textured-textured configuration to increase slip resistance on sloping grades; anchor trenches were dimensioned according to the site geotechnical report. Considering the cyclical movement of the leach solution, panel orientations were planned parallel to the solution flow axis. Critical welding lines, targeted for completion before the rainy season, were kept on schedule with a shift work program.

The entire manufacturing process is documented with daily trial weld logs, ambient temperature records, panel layout plans, and deployment reports. The joint quality audit conducted with the Tümad engineering team creates a reference data set for the long-term safe operational performance of the site.
