Reinforcement element that locks horizontal deformation in its aperture geometry; increases bearing capacity in weak soils from subgrade reinforcement to retaining walls.
Mechanical interlocking with granular material
Produced in mono-, bi-, and tri-axial variants, the geogrid forms a composite load-bearing layer with the granular infill by interlocking horizontal deformations generated under the applied load within its apertures. As a result, the infill thickness decreases, bearing capacity increases, and differential settlements are controlled.
